Dear Applicant,

There are some things to know before filling in and submitting this application form.

If you are renewing for the first time online, use this same form after doing a password reset, but be sure to include your member number and specify existing member when completing the application.  If you are an existing Life Member, contact membership@cornwallhandgunclub.ca for a discount code to waive the renewal fee and then proceed with that code.  Existing regular members are permitted to use this renewal to apply for a Life Membership (by selecting it instead of a Regular Membership), which must be reviewed by the board before acceptance.

If you need personal assistance to complete your application or renewal (you don't have a computer or smart phone or a good internet connection, don't like computers or smart phones or the internet in general, or just need some help), we have volunteers more than happy to key in your information for you, just visit our Events page and register for one of the many in-Person Renewal events for application or renewal assistance, or e-mail membership@cornwallhandgunclub.ca for an appointment for a volunteer to meet you at the range to help you out.

There is some uncertainty with the use of certain semi-automatic firearms. Various makes and models of firearms are being classified as prohibited. Once this is done, they are no longer permitted to be used at the club. More information is available here. This may in your eyes reduce the value of having a membership with us.

The Cornwall Handgun Club is also in the news for noise complaint issues. There are day and hour restrictions being imposed upon us by the Township of South Stormont, starting November 1st.  The new days and hours are May through October, Tuesday through Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM; November through April, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to dusk; closed Sunday, Monday and specified holidays. More information is available here. This combined with federal firearms changes could greatly reduce the value of your membership.

If you choose to proceed with this application given these issues, there are no refunds if you change your mind afterwards.

For those that already sent in a paper application or renewal (by e-mail or mail), this online form has replaced the paper application and renewal form, and it would help us out if you could fill in this form with the information from your application or renewal, and you will get an instant response.  Thanks for your understanding as we transition applications and renewals to online.

If you have a late renewal, just complete the application normally, include your member number and specify existing member.

Payment will be collected manually if required once your application or renewal has been manually approved.  The manual approval process for applications takes up to 2 weeks, and includes an PAL check.  You will likely receive a notification from the RCMP for the PAL check.  The manual approval process for renewals is much quicker, and only takes up to 1 week.

For all membership levels:

The membership fee for new members is half price between June 1 and September 30. New memberships in the month of October and November are valid until the end of the following November. All memberships have no limit on inviting up to 3 relatives and friends at a time as guests as long as they don't have a PAL. If a friend or relative with a PAL wants to visit more than once a year, they should apply for membership. A $5 guest fee applies per guest per visit.  If a child under 18 is visiting more than 4 times per year, then a Junior Membership is less expensive at $20/year.
New members are required to take the club’s in class safety training. You must also complete up to six live fire training visits using a handgun. For experienced handgun users, the live fire sessions can be completed before the in-class portion. A club handgun can be provided. Ammunition for live fire training is not included (bring your own factory ammunition or be prepared to pay the trainer to provide it).  Holster training is a separate course.
Membership includes $5 million liability insurance with the National Firearms Association.
